83 - Do-It-Yourself Spectrometer

In this lab assignment, you will build a spectrometer. The building of the spectrometer is loosely based on the video Youtube - DIY Spectrometer. You will then measure some properties of different light sources. For further reference, it is advised to also read the manual for the experiment "15 - Wavelength Measurement with a Grating".

Requirements:

• CD (which can be cut and destroyed)
• Smartphone / Camera
• Ruler
• Sticky tape / Tesa film (non-transparent)
• Cardboard box
• 2 Razor blades or other sharp-edged pieces
